Explosive atmospheres are those locations in which gases, vapours or combustible dusts are able to form a flammable mixture with air, which could be ignited in the presence of an ignition source either mechanical or electrical.

For KDE it is vital that we ensure safe installation, inspection, testing and maintenance procedures for all electrical equipment installed in these potentially explosive environments.
Our qualified CompEx trained engineers work to current ATEX Directives and are trained in the requirements of the BS EN 60079-17 series of standards for the following areas:
